This is why the company utilized a measurement tool to assess happiness levels of its employees. At the end of the day, the workers would automatically get an email asking them to report their well-being by selecting an emoji. Norris explained that this strategy is “a bit of a canary in a cage.” He added that if the firm notices an employee is in the red zone, they will be able to be proactive and try to resolve the issue. In addition, the business allows workers to make suggestions via an internal communication platform that lets employees vote on proposed solutions.

“At a high level, you can correlate happiness with productivity, but really it’s about the kind of culture you’re trying to create and using the tool to support that,” Norris told the news source. “You can’t use a tool like this in isolation it needs some kind of feedback loop. So you may get the data, but it’s what you do with it that matters.”
