This just in – fewer than 6 in 10 employees said their company does a good job of explaining their programs and even less said their managers effectively reflect performance in their pay decisions. Don’t know about you, but that’s a bit surprising to us.

Welcome back to Xceleration and the final video in our three-part series explaining the findings of new research by professional staffing company Towers Watson. Today’s focus is on communication and clarity of pay or rewards.

How can we expect employees to be motivated at work if they’re unclear on their compensation structure, or unsure of the rewards they can earn if they work hard?

Our suggestion: Managers – Make it a point to connect performance with pay and bonuses any time you have a six-month or annual review with your employees. With point-based reward programs, it’s important for employees to know how their work directly earns them points, and clear communication will ensure they do!

We’ll see you next time!
