Rewards mean engaged workers [VIDEO]

It seems as if workers around the world are looking for recognition when it comes to a job well done.

A study by the global human resources foundation WorldAtWork found that short-term incentives have a high impact on engagement.

And while a rewards program is no substitute for an in-person pat on the back, it can go a long way in making workers feel appreciated.

Ravi Gajendran, associate professor of business administration at the University of Illinois College of Business, recently told Reuters that recognition should focus on special achievements or contributions, because too much public back patting can lead to a perception that everyone is above average.
