As more companies rebound from the economic downturn, the travel industry is starting to see an uptick in corporate business trips.

As more companies rebound from the economic downturn, the travel industry is starting to see an uptick in corporate business trips.

Jeff Broudy, former chair of the Incentive Research Foundation, told Travel Market Report that the time is right for travel agents to expand their incentive business.

But Broudy said that he is seeing a change in exactly what loyal customers want.

He said that it appears as if more clients are looking for incentives that offer true value. In particular, younger qualifiers are looking for the so-called "wow factor" in a rewards program, including golf tournaments, an exotic car rental or a trip based on corporate social responsibility activities.

A rewards program that lets companies accumulate points is a great way for travel agents to let loyal business customers choose awards based on what their employees want.
