Keep morale high with rewards [VIDEO]

A new survey by the accounting staffing firm Accountemps has found that a lack of communication within an organization can zap a worker's morale.

A new survey by the accounting staffing firm Accountemps has found that a lack of communication within an organization can zap a worker's morale.

And while many managers – 38 percent – said that having open, honest communication with workers is the best remedy for low morale, the survey also noted an incentive program that offers different rewards can also go a long way to restoring esprit de corps.

Because the survey found that failure to recognize employee achievements as another top morale killer, having a comprehensive rewards program based on points is a great way for companies to show their appreciation for exceptional performances.

Workers can then redeem their points for a reward of their choice, including gift certificates or tickets to a local sporting event.
According to Accountemps, giving rewards soon after an achievement is accomplished is a great way to lift a worker's spirit.
