Firms using social technology to support company initiatives

Businesses can utilize social media platforms alongside traditional employee incentive programs to generate better results.

More companies are turning to social media networks to create unique and engaging experiences for their customers. A new white paper by SilkRoad Technology shows that this same technology is being used to engage employees.

According to the paper, titled The State of Talent Management 2013, 54 percent of organizations are using social technology to support training and development programs. These tools can be useful in collecting feedback, offering encouragement and even conducting reward and recognition programs.

"Talent management is a fast-moving industry, and every year brings new trends," Nicholas Roi, managing director of SilkRoad Technology, told Fresh Business Thinking. "Emerging technologies are having a marked effect on the way in which employees engage with their employer, which is of vital importance, considering the significant rise in mobile workforce numbers globally."

Businesses can utilize social media platforms alongside traditional employee incentive programs to generate better results. When community forums are created on social networks, this improves communication and allows workers to offer suggestions for improving the initiatives. This helps employees feel connected to the results and may increase participation in the programs. By incorporating technology into training programs and other initiatives, businesses can create a more engaging experience for their employees, driving participation and enthusiasm.
