Global organizations use recognition programs to boost corporate culture, engagement

The number of organizations and companies worldwide using employee reward programs is growing, as more firms recognize the importance of worker well-being and its link to productivity.

According to a recent survey from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), approximately seven in 10 global organizations use employee recognition programs to improve corporate culture, claiming these initiatives "instill and reinforce corporate values to its employees."

Furthermore, rewards initiatives create more engaged staff members, according to 82 percent of those surveyed, and an additional 54 percent said they help promote worker retention.

"Employee recognition programs are especially powerful when the design allows managers and employees to report successes throughout the year and reward, and recognize individual performance accordingly," said Mark Schmit, vice president of research at SHRM.

For companies that have yet to implement recognition initiatives, they can turn to incentives professionals to help them assess their needs and create successful programs.
