Attach written praise to larger rewards to make them more meaningful

Firms are using employee rewards programs to show their appreciation for staff members' continued loyalty, hard work and jobs well done.

Firms are using employee rewards programs to show their appreciation for staff members' continued loyalty, hard work and jobs well done.

There are a number of ways that companies can make these awards even more meaningful. One thing businesses can do is personalize these rewards with a small written message or comment, Entrepreneur magazine asserts.

These messages should be specific about the job for which the staff member is being recognized and what was particularly appreciated and noteworthy about it. These written praises can be delivered to their desk, in their mailbox or as part of a larger reward.

"We often overlook the strength of written praise," Cindy Ventrice, an employee recognition expert, told the news source. "When you take a little bit of extra effort to put it in writing, it pays you back many times over. People read that over and over again."

Such notes can help employees feel more connected to their jobs and their companies, creating a better office culture and improving productivity.
