Mid-sized companies produce engaged, collaborative employees

While companies of all sizes are working to improve their employee engagement through the use of rewards and recognition programs, certain sectors are proving more successful than others.

While companies of all sizes are working to improve their employee engagement through the use of rewards and recognition programs, certain sectors are proving more successful than others.

A recent list of the greatest places to work in Austin, Texas, revealed that 30 of the top places to be employed in the city were mid-sized employers, i.e. those with 150-499 staff members, The American Statesman reports.

The list was devised by compiling feedback from 20,060 workers from 138 companies from the Austin area. They rated their employers on factors such as leadership, ethics and values, direction and how well they feel treated by their bosses, the news source explains.

One of the top businesses on the list, J.B. Goodwin Realtors, reportedly was deemed one the best places to be employed by fostering a collaborative spirit among workers, a separate article from the newspaper explained.

"I'm successful because someone mentored me, and that same mentoring quality lives on," said Gay Puckett, one of the firm’s top producers.
